Gavin's Thoughts Before Leaving

Prior to leaving for NOLA I am feeling a bit of anxiety and annoyance in having to leave the comfort of my home and having to have my winter break shortened. But it is only now that I am realizing that I am being extremely selfish, especially given the service I am about to do. I feel rather guilty knowing that I have a home and comfort that I am choosing to leave while the people that I am going to provide service for were forced to leave their homes with the knowledge that there may be no home for them to return to. Now that I really think about it, I am very grateful for what I have and extremely excited to work in New Orleans and help to make an impact on the lives of others.
